Destination Marketing
The BID spearheads numerous marketing efforts designed to meet the needs of the 23 million people who shop, dine and visit Lincoln Square each year and to promote the nearly 250 businesses and non-profit organizations residing within our district.
Events
Winter’s Eve at Lincoln Square: Billed as New York City’s largest holiday festival, Winter’s Eve features free entertainment, food tastings from some of the area’s finest restaurants, live music and shopping with dozens of activities in the stores, public spaces and along the sidewalks on Broadway from Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle northwards to 68th Street. Close to 100 neighborhood businesses (national and local), as well as area cultural and civic organizations, participate in this event. On what has become a feel-good and cherished seasonal tradition for many, holiday revelers sample some of the best dining NYC has to offer, enjoy music from up-and-coming bands, watch legendary performers and laugh with street buskers. Please visit our Winter’s Eve website for more information about the event.
Summer Concert Series: During the summer months, music lovers are invited to grab a bite to eat from one of our many local restaurants, join friends and relax at Richard Tucker Park where the BID, in partnership with the MTA’s Music Under New York Program, provides a series of free musical performances. Taking place on Wednesday afternoons, our performer and genre line-up is diverse, ranging from toe tapping rhythm n’ blues to classical. Check out a You Tube clip of a recent concert here.
Neighborhood News
Lincoln Square, the official print BID newsletter and the voice of the neighborhood, is published three times annually and distributed to more than 9,000 residents, businesses, institutions, and public officials. The newsletter tells it all: what’s happening, what’s new, who’s here, who’s making news and frequently features special offers at area establishements just for Lincoln Square readers. On a regular basis, the newsletter highlights local restaurants, cultural institutions or area stores for its readers, giving Lincoln Square businesses and institutions yet another chance to shine!
LINKS, our monthly email newsletter, is designed to foster greater communication in the neighborhood. LINKS keeps readers informed of programs, events, and other developments throughout the district and beyond.
Many local businesses enjoy offering a special discount to readers who bring in a copy of their LINCOLN SQUARE or LINKS newsletter. Please contact us at 212.581.3774 if you are a business with an in-store event or special offer that you would like to see featured.
Hospitality Services
We have implemented a series of initiatives designed to ensuring that visitors to our neighborhood have a safe and enjoyable trip:
Neighborhood Map and Guide: A terrific neighborhood resource, the map – updated and revised five times to date – highlights all the special amenities in Lincoln Square. Our attractive map is distributed to all shops, businesses, and residents in the district, as well as tourist offices around the City.
Where to Eat in Lincoln Square features restaurants and bars within the Lincoln Square neighborhood. Foodies can pick up this dining guide at our Neighborhood Information carts, at various business and cultural locations throughout the district. Bon appétit!
Where to Shop in Lincoln Square features the neighborhood's exciting collection of prestigious brands. Whether it’s eyewear or athletic wear, hair care or pet care, you’ll find it in Lincoln Square. Allow Where to Shop in Lincoln Square to serve as your guide.
Neighborhood Ambassadors: Our organization serves as an ombudsman for the neighborhood. On a macro-level, this means advocating for the overarching needs of all of our constituent groups—property owners, businesses, residents and tourists. On a more personal level our support can be seen through the actions of our Public Safety Officers who, in addition to their safety patrols, often help area guests find a particular restaurant, store, or other destination.
Neighborhood Information Carousels: Late spring through early fall, the BID places two attractive information carousels in highly visible areas within the BID to promote tourism and business. The carousels are kept fully stocked with maps, calendars and listings, and other informational material about events and opportunities in Lincoln Square, as well as throughout the city. ReServists and colllege students as well as students from Martin Luther King, Jr. Educational Campus staff the carts, serving as knowledgeable, helpful ambassadors for the district and the BID.

Banners
The lively banners that hang along Broadway define and “brand” the district and promote tourism and shopping in the area. Banners change seasonally and in some cases draw attention to exciting events in the neighborhood, such as our Winter’s Eve festival.
If you are interested in sponsoring a series of banners or would like more information about any of our marketing programs please call our office at 212.581.3774
