GETTING THE WORD OUT

Lincoln Square is blessed with a wealth of major businesses, stores, restaurants, cultural institutions, and great energy and spirit. To promote the restaurants, shops, and cultural offerings in Lincoln Square, the BID provides important marketing opportunities and advertising support through a variety of direct and indirect services and acts as a liaison between the business community and its customers. We also provide numerous sponsorship opportunities; please contact us at 212.581.3774 if you are interested in sponsoring any of our programs or events.

Current BID programs and events:

Winter’s Eve at Lincoln Square, New York's largest holiday celebration, is a one night neighborhood festival that immediately follows the Lincoln Center holiday tree lighting. The highly successful community event features free entertainment, family fun, kids activities, food tastings and shopping around and about this colorful and vibrant neighborhood.

Neighborhood Map and Guide lists everything that’s here and shows you where to find it. Our attractive map is distributed to all shops, businesses, and residents in the district, as well as tourist offices around the City. A terrific neighborhood resource, the map – updated and revised five times to date – highlights all the special amenities in Lincoln Square. We’ll be happy to send you one before you visit Lincoln Square to help you get around, click here and send us an email if you would like a map sent to you.

LINCOLN SQUARE, the official BID newsletter and the voice of the neighborhood is published three times annually and distributed to more than 6,500 residents, businesses, institutions, and public officials, the newsletter tells it all: what’s happening, what’s new, who’s here, who’s making news. LINKS, our bi-monthly email newsletter, is designed to foster greater communication in the neighborhood.  LINKS keeps readers informed of programs, events, and other developments throughout the district and beyond.  Please contact us at 212.581.3774 if you have an in-store event or special offer that you would like to see featured. SIDEWALK SURPRISES IN LINCOLN SQUARE is the BID’s series of free summer walking tours. Hundreds of people have delighted in the opportunity to learn about the district, its colorful history, and its exciting future.

NEIGHBORHOOD INFORMATION CARTS During the summer months, to promote tourism and business, the BID places two attractive information carts in highly visible areas within the BID. The carts are kept fully stocked with maps, calendars and listings, and other informational material about events and opportunities in Lincoln Square, as well as throughout the city. Local students from Martin Luther King, Jr. High School staff and operate the carts, serving as knowledgeable, helpful ambassadors for the district and the BID. Students benefit from the employment and career-building opportunity, while residents and visitors gain valuable information about the neighborhood. Over 30 students have been employed in the carts program since 1999.

BANNERS The lively seasonal banners that hang along Broadway define and “brand” the district and promote tourism and shopping in the area.  If you are interested in sponsoring a series of banners please call our office at 212.581.3774.
